When I was in school, girls were wearing iridescent aquamarine, turquoise and purple nylon fishnets that caught the light and cast reflections: It was embarrassing for me because my eye was drawn to them as though from impure motive; if you’d been in my class, I don’t know whether I’d be able to look away.
